One of my brothers is looking at buying an M Roadster, will buy used in good shape, was wondering if any year was better than another etc. Any opinions or experience with this model of BMW out there in the club?

My wife drives a 98 S52 M Roadster.. It's a great car - nice handling, and awesome torquey motor that makes great noises, but if your brother can afford one, I recommend trying to get a 2000 or later S54 model. Those cars have even more hosepower (315 vs the 240 of the S52), and are a bit more refined all across the board.

Just get it Inspected make sure the Rear Differential is not pulling out of the
Body there are some problems in the Rear Support / Floor Area. It is Fixable but something to be aware of....
