I recently have had really cold hands and cuts take a long time to heal.
I am not diabetic.
Went to the doctor, he said the one of my arteries was not working past my wrist.
Did an angiogram, checks blood flow, and confirmed the findings.
Gonna have surgery to fix it in FEB.
Doctor said IMPACT TO THE PALM CAUSED THE INJURY.
He is a hand specialist and says he sees it a lot on car mechanics.
Bottom line, use the correct tools, do not use your hands to force things in place.
It pains me to think of how many times I installed a hub caps with my palms as the hammer.
This has been a very painful lesson for me and I hope to help some of you by sharing my experience.

Good advice. There are times when I use my hands to pound a car part or wrench and end up with a bruise that makes me wonder what I was doing that for. We do this all of the time, but we just don't think about it until we hurt ourselves.

Good luck and I hope your surgery goes well.

That is good advice. I use all sorts of body parts as tools, levers and pry bars.

My uncle's right hand is shot. Dr told him 35 years of air tools does that. Horrible circulation and his hand looks like he is holding an invisible air ratchet. Pretty sad, really.

I'm from iowa... you ever meet an old farmer...... hands the size of your head and stronger than my entire body....
i see these hands in guys 30+yrs old here in phoenix now too... laborers their whole lives, hands rough like the bottoms of your feet. Everytime i meet someone with hands like that i give them all the respect i have in me.

Using your head as a jackstand is not wise either!!!
Good Luck on a swift recovery.
