I saw the sun this morning so that must mean that spring his here!
I would like to get some of the hearty puget sound 914 owners to come over to Bremerton Family Pancake House and then for a drive like last year...
If it is THAT nice of a day (like alsat year) we could even drive out to Dawato bay on Hood Canal... great twisties and scenery can not be beat!
Here is what is on the calender for me:
Feb 5 Superbowl out of town (not going to the game)
Feb 18 PCA Autocross practice (we could show up enmass and just freak the wine and cheeze folks!)
March 10-12 Race driver school and Seattle enduro at Pacific Raceway.
So lets start thinking about a day. I would suggest something in Gig Harbor as a sencondary local, but Dave might not want all of us blasting around his nieghborhood, that is his favorite pastime!

i am in; heck, coffee, breakfast sausage, bacon, eggs, toast... my favorite meal!
it is right up there with lunch and dinner as the best reason to get up in the morning!
gig harbor would be good, as it is closer for some. bremerton is also good, as the seattle folks can come over on da boat! either way is fine wit me. the pancake house treated us pretty good last time.
thanks for starting this, dino! now get back to work on your bathroom!

I'm in.
My days of hammering it around Giggle are over for a while. Yesterday on my way to the bridge a county sherriff got right up on my butt (just about filled the rear view). I imagine he was running my plate but, I can't be sure. Fortunately, all the equipment works and I saw him early so, I was a good little boy. I ran around at about 2900 rpms to keep the noise down until he got bored with me.
I have to lay low for a while. I've been a little overboard since i got the new engine in.

18 feb? i think that would be fine, but dino was sayin' that the ax stuff starts real early. would hate to have a conflict. and as fer the pancake house, they did it up purty good, didn't they?

Jan 24 2006, 08:24 PM
I wouldn't be overly concerned about a conflict with a Feb autocross. Feb autocrosses are basically slip-and-slide practices, aren't they? I agree with Kevin.. let's go to the track after breakfast, to see those guys and hang out for a while. That will be fun.
The 18th at the pancake house sounds great! I wonder what time the Seattle-Bremerton ferry gets in..

Thanks, Eddy.
Arriving at 9:00 a.m. sounds good, assuming there will still be room at the restaurant.... pull into the waiting area in Seattle about 6:45?, drive onto the ferry about 7:15, ferry leaves at 7:35, have coffee, arrive in Brem at 8:35, unload in Brem, and get to the restaurant by 9:00... easy as pie.

Ok, then NO FLAX NEEDED! ;^) sorry Geoff, we will miss you!
Last time the FPH was very accommodating and were glad to have us! I think any breakfast restaurant that sees me and Shane coming thru the doors are thinking "Today is gonna be BIG!"
I will get a headcount the week before and reserve a table. Making it to the restaurant by 9:14 should be no worries from the ferry! It is about a 10min drive if you miss every light!
The PCA Autocross that day is a practice, 25 bucks all the laps you want. I think it would be VERY KEWL for 10 or 15 of us to show up and crash their party!!

Sure wish I could make it but I've got a booth at the old car swap meet in Puyallup that day. I'm in the process of thinning the herd of antique cars and parts so I can spend more time driving.

Hey
with all this talent in the area, would any of you like to come to my house after the AX Crashing, and crack open my engine and transmission and see what she needs??
The engine and transmission are already out. I've just been so busy with my Navy life that it's just been sitting there crying to be loved. I return from being at sea on the 14th.
I've got no proper tools but if you'd like to assist it would be appreciated....
I can do an afternoon bbq, beerfest, or male striptease

This is a sure sign that spring is close by. Last years drive was the best March weather I've ever seen.
So I'm in.
It will be good to see you guys again.
I've got my car up on stands to rebuild the front end but I'm in no rush so I'll hold off until after the 18th.
I could go over to Shelton and up route 3, but if we can meet up somewhere around Tacoma and run to the PCH
together that's good too.

Th Family Pancake house is VERY easy to find!
Family Pancake & Dinner House, 3900 Kitsap Way Bremerton WA 98312 (360) 479-2422
Drive around and South Sound route:
Take Highway 16 to Gorst, stay to the right and it will turn into Highway 3. Take the 3rd 3exit onto Kitsap Way (Mile post 38) Turn right from the offramp onto Kitsap way. FPH is on the left about a mile in.
From the boat:
Get in the middle lane follow the road around, it will make a big left bend and turn into 11th. Follow that to the twin right arrows stop light. That is Kitap Way. FPH is on the right, just past Shell.
Now we need a head count so we can have enuff chairs!
See ya there!
Also, let me know if you need a map or directions to Bremerton Motorsports park to harass the local PCA autx!!!

let's do this... for south bound folks...take the Port of Tacoma Rd exit (this is the second exit in the fife area). turn left after getting off I-5 and go back over the freeway. there will be a wherehouse type building directly ahead of you. you will see my car, i'll be there at 8. if you have a thomas guide, turn to page 803. near the tacoma dome you will see where Hwy 7 runs south off of I-5. a couple of 360* corners, no stop lights, and a zoomy run back down to I-5 southbound.
dino, please bring that orphaned mps with you.

Drove that way yesterday, and it looked like that exit you're talking about Kev is actually the 20th street exit. If you take the Port of Tac. Rd. exit, it will dump you into Fife. So look for the 20th st. exit and then head over the freeway. You will see my Oly. blue car there too.

jim
, for people coming
south bound on I-5, the
EXIT is port of tacoma rd. 20th is the street on the south side of I-5, parallel to I-5 ( and runs all the way to milton way from port of tacoma rd). if people follow my directions exactly, they will be where they need to be at 8. throwing in changes will just muddy the waters. so...(no offense) forget what jim posted and just follow my directions. go work on your car!!

Feb 12 2006, 01:37 PM
for people coming
north bound on I-5 they would take the port of tacoma/20th st exit and bear to the right after exiting I-5, which is prob the way you drove. go work on your car

chance of snow showers, lows in the mid 20s.But they're probably wrong, as usual..
