Changed ignitions to electronic points every thing was running smooth THEN bang bang bang I think I dropped a valve sitting in the garage. at least I didn't have to tow it home. The engine was running high temps in the head coming back from San Diego last week so we changed the points but it was to late.

Does the engine still turn over okay?

Have you tried a valve adjustment, to see if anything is abnormal?
