I've a '74 LE - 2.0L - I've owned for about 7 years and I'm running out of space in the garage - I've replaced almost everything on this car. It is a LE chassis car - was originally Black - with black trim - repainted bright yellow / black - changed to dual 44's - several other sought after mods, Springs, torsion bars, brake upgrade, big bore kit, high output oil pump, secondary oil cooler, ulta light high tourqe starter, relocated fuel pump, MSD ignition, Blaster II coil, MSD Distributor and a bunch of other restoration things like replaced interior, muffler, heat excahngers. Car is very solid, longs and battery area, floor, trunck etc are all in great shape or have been replaced with restoration parts sheets metal.

I'm wondering what it might be worth to sell? Is any body interested? Send me a line and we can talk - I can send lots of pictures from the rebuild - FYI - I have lots of spare replacement parts including trim, etc... I can't seem to upload a current picture

Actually, LEs are worth more with original parts like the D-jet fuel injection and original paint scheme, etc.

You have a modified LE, probably worth what any other '73 or '74 2.0L in similar condition is worth.

It might be a good idea to get a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche North America verifying that it is really a LE or CANAM car. That will add value for some.

Others could care less if a care is a LE or not.

is it this one?

pretty car. smile.gif

nose job is a matter of opinion dry.gif

Lovely car, but if that pic is correct, probably not an LE (now that I'm an expert biggrin.gif )
Check the vin..LE Registry
LE's had no vinyl on sails and Mahles instead of Fuchs.

I concur, that is or was not an LE, It looks ok though, Dont drive it before you fasten that top securely. it will fly off.

That is a very old picture - the car dows have Mahle's on it now - and according the fellow who runs the LE registry the serial number does match what would have be a LE - Bubble Bee - Car was originally Black as per the paint code and the black anodized trim that was on the car when I bought it. You guys sure are tough on people who post here. I wish I could post a current picture but I'm not able - maybe I coudl send one to someone who can. The picture is about 4 years old -
TROJANMAN
tough? i think it's a great looking car. smile.gif

do you have anymore pics of the front end?

did you install the body kit, or did you buy it that way?
David Mueller
That's not a body kit - it's just shaved turn signal pods. They where cut in line with the hood and metal was welded and formed to create the fender. Turn signals where relocated beind factory fog light grills, original fogs lights are still in place and working. Custom rod builder did the modifucations before I bought the car. Antena was filled and relocated.

I did change the bumpers to an early style without bumperettes for both front and rear - It originally had body colour painted bumpers and I changed to the chrome because I prefered the look.

I have other pictures so send me an e-mail and I can forward if you'd like.

No 914 came with black anodized trim. That's something a previous owner did. If you get the COA it may say whether you really have an LE or not. In the end though a high modified LE isn't worth any premium.
David Mueller
Wasn't looking for a premium just a couple of opinions as to what I may ask for the car if I was to put it up for sale. It's worth more than $50 and less than $15K - Just want some thoughts from people in the know...
