I just got the dizzy from flaps across the street.

022 905 205H

Rebuilt by Cardone. But I'm pretty sure the Cardone book only shows one for both 1.7 and 2.0. Will the curve work for both cars ?

I'm going to try it on my 73 2.0. I figure new is better than 30 years old. The advance is a little different. But not anymore the 30 years of wear and tolerance change.
Plus who knows what guts are in the case, being rebuilt.

I did check. Cardone only does one dizzy for all D-Jets.

i have two cardone dizzy's...one has a 205 ending and the other has a 911 part number. both feel the same though.

they feel the same--very peppy and clean.

oil temps stay the same as stock.

i switched mine out when I went from carbs to L-jet, but they are very good deals.

dont expect it to last 30 years, but a couple might be alright.

Cardone does not care about the number on the casing....they build it to one specification. Procedure is called "consolidation"....one size fits all.

i concur.

they even tried to cover it up by applying some painted finish to the prouduct, after bead blasting the case or whatever....

Hope their QC is better than it is in their caliper department. I went through FIVE calipers before I put a couple of used ones on the car (and BEFORE it ever left the hoist!).

Your vacuum unit is gonna be wrong, and second rate. I've seen those cheapo ones bad right out of the box. The point plate is gonna be original, and that's what really wears out. I wouldn't touch a "rebuilt" distributor unless it had a new point plate, all new Boisch electrical parts, and a new Bosch vacuum can. Lotsa bux, but then you have what's right for your car, it's gonna work right, and it's gonna last.

I'll put it in and see what happens. I've got to get rid of the hurky.... yurky spots.

I do have a new points plate hanging on the pegboard. Plus I have another 2.0 dizzy that belongs to my other 2.0.
But I wanted to try a fresh one.

The new engine is going to be MegaSquirt, MSD & a new Mallory dizzy.
