How long is the positive battery cable? I need to get one from the local flaps.

battery to starter? IIRC around 8ft/96inches to be safe.

Yep, battery to starter. Mine has a splice in it, just plain weird. PO must of got one that was a little too short, trying not to make the same mistake. Don't want to wallow around in the dirt trying to measure it. Thanks for the help.

Go to a boat shop they carry it in bulk. get what you want in the gauge you need. get some copper terminals solder them on.
Whala custom cable with better jacket and quality wire.
Unless you are a CCW. then the Porsche parts is $$$$$$

Most good marine grade wire is tin coated and resists salt water corrosion. Costs a lttle more but will survive if you accidently drive into the ocean.

Excellent point because it will also protect against spilled beer.

I don't think I will ever spill beer on the starter, but who knows, maybe on the battery end. Like the Marine stuff, heavy duty. Had a buddy who had his Jeep seats upholstered with boat vinyl, looked like it would last forever
