How hard is it to import a car from Germany.

What are the costs?

this would be a car that is normally available here, a Eurovan, but not in pickup truck form..

So I want to buy a pickup truck from Germany, on Ebay, and ship it here...

Does anyone know of a place I could check?
I know NHSTA covers the safety.
EPA covers emmisions..

But is there a list of acceptable cars that can be imported??

Before I bought my Eurovan camper I looked at one in Europe and inquired about what it would take to bring it to the U.S. The bottom line was that it would need to be federalized and just wasn't practical. Besides the pickup model, the new Eurovans are very desireable because they can't be had in the U.S. so there are lots of Eurovan owners who wish it was easy to bring cars in. Even Canadian cars have the same problem - being on North American soil isn't good enough.
