How do I test the manifold pressure sensor on my 1.7 motor. I have it out for a total rebuild and do not want to reuse it unless I can be sure it is working accurately. any advice welcome

check the resistance between the connecting pins to check for continuity of the inductor coils and put a vacuum on it to see how long it holds a vacuum. check for posts here about specific values of resistance and vacuum.

As mentioned, pull a vacuum on it and see how much it drops over time. If you want definitive answers, send it to Jeff Bowlsby and get a test done from him. He's got all the tools and the knowledge.
