I am planning to rebuild my 1.8 with one of Jake's 2056 kits in the near future.
Does anyone know if the 1.8 engine tin will fit on a 2056. If not, which pieces need to be replaced/modified?

Thanks a bunch confused24.gif

if the heads are 1.8 or 1.7 heads, then the 1.8 tin will be fine... if the heads are 2.0 or have the spark plug location changed... then the 1.8 tin won't work... you'll need the 2 2.0 top tin pieces

It's all about the heads. But I was able to relocate my s/p holes when I put 1.7 tin on my new engine that had 2.0 heads. Hole saw and a file was all it took. Than I welded up the old holes with some sheetmetal.

Jakes kit uses modified 1.8 heads, so I think I will be Ok.
Thanks for the reply guys.

depends... he often relocates the plug location... so I would check with him

The engine kit does have 1.8 spark plug angles. Plug relocation is an option, and if you knew what I knew about the relocation you'd swap to 2 liter tins and get the benefits!
