Hi, Fellas

First off.. Have any of you racer types ever used a Clutch Masters brand clutch in your 914?

If so, Can you post something about your experience.??

I have a connection with these guys that may be of some benifit to us.

I have used clutch masters product on street cars (V8s) and many Hipo Ricer cars with great success.

The pricing for a 6 spring disk, T/O, PP and pilot bearing is 350 bucks my/our cost.

Check the price of the 914/6 clutch with a six spring disk at PP = $435.00

This clutch setup is stickier than a stocker. And will have a little more pedal pressure to attenuate it.

This is considered by CM to be about 30% more clamping pressure than stock and it defintively gets stickier as it gets hot.

The price for the 1.7, 1.8, and 2 litre is the same.

NO FLYWHEEL included.

They also make double disk and triple disk for you High HP and torque monsters. Those clutches cost demonstratively more.

They also stock aluminum flywheels for the well heeled racer. (Differant than Fidanza)

If you have any interest in this possibilty.
Add your thougts to this thread.

Thanks,

Clayton

$350 is a good price and I think I'll be needing a new clutch/pp idea.gif

jd74914,

Keep checking this thread and we will see if there is enough interest for a possible group buy.

The minimum buy is 5 sets for these prices.

So we only need 5 guys.

Note of interest. They make 3 differant "off the shelf" clutch setups for the 914 that these guys manufacture.

And a couple of custom setups that are exclusive to Clutch Masters.

These are not listed on their web site.

Lets see what happens here...

LowGT
I had a clutch masters 3 in my 93 Probe GT I turbocharged. Prior to that I was running a 75 wet shot on it. It was a great clutch and I never had a problem with slipping or a weak feel.

To bad I just bought all new sachs clutch components, or I would be in on this for sure.

Should this deal get off the ground,, I'd be in for 1.

PP sells a kit for $330, and you don't get the pilot bearing.

Can anybody say "So cal clutch swap BBQ"? smash.gif smash.gif

Hi Rotary,

Check the price of the 914/6 clutch with a six spring disk at PP = $435.00

The 4 spring stock clutch is 330.00 at PP.

The clutch that is up for group buy is a 6 spring disk.

My math tells me we are getting a bit better clutch package for 85.00 less than PP.

This also includes a heavier pressure plate than a stocker.
(bout 30% more clamping force)

So far only a couple of guys are interested. I dunno.. Lets give it a couple of more days and see what happens.
