so I am tring to remove the roll bar chrome trim .. I finally figure out that there is a little nut on the underside of the fender well ....what I also discovered is that it is a bitch to get to and it is a bit rusted

any hints as to a good way to get the little bugger off ?

there was a thread about this subject several months ago.
IIRC you need only to remove the exterior screw (s) and use your palm to pushdown on the bottom of the strip and it should slide out (toward rear of car) from under a clip, which is held by that fastener you saw from underneath. do not believe that needs to be removed.

try a search in case I've forgotten something.

Just did mine this past w/e. Replaced the rear window seal.

once all the screws are removed and the side trim where the seat belts attach you can pull on it. Don't pull too hard, wiggle it up and down while pulling out. Be careful of the targs top levers. It should come out. good luck.....
