other than if the boots are leaking orand/or torn ids tehre any other way to tell if you r ball joints need replacing ....

and if I am replacing the front shocks w/ koni yellos and installing turbo tie rods should I really be replacing them anyway just because all the other stuff is being replaced?

MartyYeoman
Ball joints are easily replaced and only cost about $50 apiece.
I'd replace them now before you have your front end realigned.

agree.gif if the rubber is the least bit weathered looking, it's worth doing... you can get the ball joints cheaper at paragon too...

I suppose there is a special tool to take off the "grooved nut" from the bottom but a pipe wrench worked well for me. I found that these things were reusable... but I did need another set bolt. YMMV

Hey Mike,
You better get that car put back together and on the road! It's almost 40 degrees outside! Spring is coming to IL!

If you are going to all the trouble to replace the other parts put new ball joints on.
