I'd like to make up a fixture to make them in 5/16" and maybe make the holes for the pedals a little larger. Maybe porduce them.

Why not laminate some Blk formica on it builds thickness and no need to paint

Maybe an aluminum edging?? If not the laminate, a little stain and polyurythane just to be pretty under the carpet. The way cute girls wear Vic Secret. MSG L
