Tomorrows plan....r&r torsion bars.
tricks of the trade?
dos and don'ts?
how hard should it be to get the new ones in?
I know that sometimes the old ones need to be driven out with a long drift and hammer. What about the new ones goin in?

After 30odd years in their nest, mine came right out.
I did drop the A arms, but I "think" you could drop the rear attachments and they would clear pan.....I haven't tried this.

They come out the rear only.
You will need to lower the rear part of the a-arm...you can do this by removing the bolts that hold the rear corss member to the car...pull that down while you are pulling the torsion abr out...it will clear the lower pan...just barely.

If you cant pull them out with your hand cause they are rusted,....

You will need to remove the front torsion bar cover..its an allen bolt holding the cover on.

Take a drift and a hammer and pound out the torsion bar.
There is a metal cap that is pressed in the end of the a-arm that will get bent/beat up...you need to save it, fix it, and put it back in..that is what keeps the bar from walking out the front.

Good luck, its not that hard..
