Hi! smile.gif

Recently, the idea of 914world.com coffee mugs came up. The idea generated a lot of interest. We think that this would be a good thing for the Club, provided quality is high and cost is reasonable.

So, we're inviting anyone who is interested in putting a group buy of 914world.com mugs together to post to this thread. When you post, please mention an approximate cost (including shipping to U.S. members) and if possible, post a picture of what kind of mug you'd like to offer.

I also invite anyone who is interested in a mug to post what they'd like to see in a product. We are leaning towards a ceramic product rather than stainless. Price is not the driving factor as much as quality and innovative product.

I don't want to influence the process much... but here's what we DON'T want:

1. Iron-on / thermal transfer designs... no matter how nice they might look.
2. Mug shapes that look like they were liberated from Denny's or a school cafeteria. You know the boring type.

So... please post your ideas and desires about mugs here!

i use my Rennlist mug every day - the small base/step-bowl design is all that really fits my cup holder. the design, of course, pretty much made its way to the ocean after its first trip through the dishwasher - my bad I never mentioned it wasn't dishwasher-safe...

so I'd buy another one of those in a heartbeat. double-wall stainless small-base commuter mug. with a laser-etched or media-blasted or similar _dishwasher safe_ design.

i have a BIG box of unused coffee mugs in storage - i have no need for anything that's primarily decorative. stainless commuter mug for me - since you ask.

the handle finally broke off on my rennlist mug....I still use it.....ditto on the decals...those didn't last long at all....

I arranged the production/group buy on the Rennlist mugs. The enamel failure was my fault... they told me dishwasher safe for over 4 years. I should have asked for some references and stuff.

I still use my stainless one, too. Only the dot on the "i" is left on the decal, but the numbered engraving is still here.

Just an idea, but I'd like to see a cup with two distinct images on it. On one side a front view of the 914, and on the opposite side, the rear view of the same car. Wether or not the image is of a stock fendered car or a flared car is up for discussion.

how about some jackstands? or a pile of rust? can they make a stainless mug with the outside being rusted sheetmetal?

How about just a mild steel coffee mug? av-943.gif

Same with me....gud mug, less than perfect graphics for the dishwasher....

sing me up for simple

say the club logo on one side and a jackstand or 914 etched on the other side.

stainless is a great idea but a nice big ceramic mug for home use would be cool too.

gotta be dishwasher safe though....

i'm in for 2-4.

I also still use my Rennlist mugs (I got #12 & #13). I wash them by hand, so I still have the graphics. wink.gif

Thanks again, Lawrence. Great job! smilie_pokal.gif

Ooohhh! I could use a couple mugs. I've finally just weened myself off the club hats, but I could get away with a couple mugs before Brian starts to notice. calvin.gif

I'd like a mug. I prefer stainless mugs personally, but I also like the no spill mugs. I used them on my sailboat and they worked well. I would think they'd work on the dash of the tenner too.

t'wasn't a whine, LB. you didn't (IIRC) represent them as being dishwasher safe. i was concerned about how well the grsphics would 'stick' but i didn't communicate this concern to the person loading the dishwasher that day. my fault.

so it was more along the lines of a suggestion that something intrinsically eashable - like a sandblasted graphic - or laser etching - would be a cool thing to investigate.

i like the pyramid no-spill shape too even tho there's no place for such a mug on the dash of my current daily commuter car.

so - if it's not gonna be a stainless cupholder-friendly design, it at least should be microwave safe (which none of my current beverage-conveyance vessels is...)
