I see it now, but no idea what it is, early 20-30s looks like the start of a streeet rod project.

I doubt I can do that. I've not pissed him off, but someone got him up to a slow burn long ago, and he hasn't calmed down yet. I've been working on him though, I think another couple months, I can ask him what he has got.

Will be interesting to find out the history. The tires are definitely newer than the body, so someone has done some work on it at one point.

Dude. Here in guyland, we just ask. Girls are the ones who tiptoe and play politics.
Try this; Call him up. Say, "Hey. How's the wife and kids? Oh. And by the way, what kind of car is that sitting in your garage."
If he gets butt-hurt over a conversation like that, then it's not worth knowing.

The bodywork you see in the red circle is from an earlier vintage than the more modern-sized tire you can see below it. I would bet the car originally had larger diameter spoked wheels.

it looks like an old ford 27-29 T or A. The square windshield frame places it in that age bracket. I THINK its only a guess

I'd guess Model A, if Ford. If there's a hole at the top of the cowl for the fuel fill, it's an "A". Doesn't appear to have the firewall hardware for the 4 coil ignition that a "T" uses. If not Ford, something between 1925 and 1932, there's a Late '20's Chevy that looks like that...

Well I braced the old man. Found out he hates his sone.
He says its a 29 model A roaster with a rumple seat. He wants 8 grand. Says he hasit all but the running boards. He says its straight, and never been wrecked. Not a dent in it
Is that car worth 8 grand?
r_towle
Mar 27 2006, 06:15 PM
no.
you can get a clean redone one for 10-14k depending upon condition
If it has a great motor and lots of goodies to go with it...6-7k
Otherwise 3-5k is what the market will bear right now.
You are his neighbor...offer him what you think its worth and wait.

Great find next door. Rich Towle is right on with pricing based on what I see. It's probably not as mint as your neighbor thinks it is. It's a good deal if you buy it right.
Do a search on "Brookville Roadster, Inc" out of Brooksville, Ohio. They make steel 29- 32 Ford body's and they list the 29 roadster body @ $5,800.00 Keep in mind thats a "new steel" bare body.
Tom
BTW
Here's a picture of my first hot rod, I built back in the mid 50's. It's a 1929 Ford Roadster body on 32 rails with a full flathead motor. Yea, I was a cool dude back then. I later replaced the flathead v/8 motor with a Corvette F.I. motor. Fun car

Looks like a later Model T, say '25-'27. That Model A Roadster is a nice find. Not worth a lot of money but could be a fun car, although if the CG were about 12" lower it could be really fun.

I'm not interested in owning the car. A local friend is semi interested, and he is contimplating rolling by with the old 5 grand in cash with a trailer hooked up ready to take it away.
If I was going to dump 8G's in a car, I'd try to add what I needed to it and try to weasel Eric's 73 rsr project out of him.

Come on by Wed. You can help weasle it out of the garage and on to the Airpower Racing trailer. They're coming by to grab it and get her running.
