Jake said it and I went out and bought some (sprung for Phillips, not the Costco equivalent brand) and tried it and now nothing siezes....and it was only like 3 bucks....

Yeah, in a physics lab I worked in years ago, there were a few very weak radioactive sources. The Health and Safety folks had raised the level of bureaucratic hassle associated with keeping them around, so the prof who ran the lab added a couple more sources to the inventory. One was an alarm clock from the 1950s (?) with a radium-painted dial. Another was a bottle of Milk of Magnesia. I think the idea is that its hard to separate magnesium from strontium. The level of radioactivity is so small its not worth worrying about, but the same could be said of the other sources we had. But every time we had an audit, they had to make sure the alarm clock hadn't been stolen by terrorists, and that nobody had inadvertently ingested any of the Milk of Magnesia !



EDIT : Oops, sorry ! After some time thinking about this I realized it might not have been Milk of Magnesia - I'm thinking it was Pepto Bismol, which contains Bismuth.

I have a radioactive-powered EXIT sign in my room....uses some heavy-hydrogen isotope thats unstable, but very VERY weak.

it looks awesome, but it expires in 7/2007

Jake, it was the most effective stuff i've ever used AND the cheapest. It's like 3 bucks for a huge bottle of it.

It's the bomb for exhaust nuts also.. They come off every time.. No problem....

Header flange bolts too....

And no backed out head studs....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: I personally use it on all my nuts that get heat soaked...

The engines I first used it on were 1750 SHP and ran just a little "Warm"

It's the best anti seize in the world, and it doesn't reduce conductivity of spark plugs..

The Aviation world taught me a lot more tricks too..

I've never heard of this before (perhaps I missed it in a different thread?)...you just coat the bolt, plug, whatever, in MoM?

I thought the industrial anti-sieze greases contained litium? Group 2 elements are similar enough to provide the same benefit? Sorry for the barrage of questions, but this is quite interesting to me

NOTHING gives the same results of MOM...

I have used it on 1.2 million dollar Turbo Shaft engines and it was RECOMMENDED for the application of ignitor plugs..

Just because something isn't designed for a certain purpose and marketed as such, doesn't mean it won't work!

I even use dental floss for engine building-
