I've been helping a freind with body work on his 62 Beetle. Cali car, but he wanted to un-do some of the custom work that had been by the P.O. The car had the handles shaved, (bashed in and filled ) and one peice door glass, (hacked out the vent window frames ) We've gone through all the extra local doors we have, but don't have a good passenger door.

Any of you guy 's have a beetle stash? The last doors he purchased came from Washington. Sprung hinges, bent skin, cracked mounting rivets.... This is a very good friend of mine. a favor to him is a favor to me. I'll owe you one.

Beetles went to the big side windows in 1965, I think.

So any year up to 1964 would work...?

I have extra 71 doors if that helps.

I think they went to the big window in 59. Small windows were on the Ovals.

I think there was a change in 69 or 70 but I'm not an expert. Maybe the handle area, shape....

Rich (Alien), yes the size of the door windows was increased ~ 1965.

To complicate things a little more, there were changes in the striker/ latch during the
late '50s and early '60s, but only the real VW perverts know those details..
