I met a new 914 owner and he's invited and said he will join. He can't leave Puyallup until 10a. So expect to see him arriving at 10:30 or drive time.

I met him last Monday and was shocked he wasn't on 914World. He found a 75 in a barn years ago and it's looking to be in good shape.

not me. don't want to be away from the homestead for the better part of a week, vet BILLS (plural), a REAL expensive root canal procedure and a few new appliances for the kitchen have eaten ALL of my discretionary $$$. as much as i dislike it, i gotta behave like an adult once in a while.

No WCR for me. I'm still fighting my employer who took all my vacation hours... no way for me to miss any work to go play.

Mark, the owner you met will be hard pressed to make it to the other side of kennydale hill from some place in puyallup in 30 minutes. With any kind of traffic and no 'good to go' pass near impossible.

The 914s caused quite a stir when we drove in. Crowded around the cars. There were a few Seattle 'legends' sharing story's and commented the sharp increase in interest in them. Not a lot of early/mid 911s but plenty of modern ones. The modern all look the same to me when there are a bunch of them lined up. The vw event was ridiculous. At least to get in. $5 to park and $10 a head. $25 to go and say hi to Nate? Nope. Hi Nate!

Glad to hear we caused a 914 stir. I went with my nephew to the VW show. Paid the price and never found Nate or the Squarsche. Pretty big price just to have the whole thing under cover. May be my last time there. Sad situation when a CSOB can't afford a VW show.

Sorry I didn't get to see anyone. Showed up a bit late at XXX with the family for lunch. After lunch I headed to Bellevue College only to see Nate driving away. The only person I wanted to talk to :-(. Oh well next time.

That was you in the 914 as I was rounding the corner. . . Sorry I missed you. I was dodging Kelty all day & camo'd the car so he couldn't see it. I was on the second floor. I spent most of the day looking down, pawing through boxes of greasy sh*t and for the most part came up empty handed. Though I did find a few treasures like a like-new Oberg oil filter w/ tattetale for $40 and some other lessor trinkets.

I did have a nice chat with Mario Velotta of thedubshop.net and we discussed a quick-upgrade to the 2056cc I currently have in the Squarsche. Soon I will be downgrading the MS EFI from ITBs back to the old plenum based system. . . so I can turbo this b*tch!! 10-12# should make this thing ROCK without needing any upgrades to the heads/pistons I already have!!

I have corresponded with a few of you and hail from the region till I hit 30 and had to find a real job that took me to the Midwest. I am out in Seattle in a hospital room visiting my 91 year old father. The last visit it turns out. Don't shed tears for me, I already have.

Kevin, I have made the 914 trip only once, to Walker's swap meet last year. I had planned on one trip, but the afternoon traffic kept me home.

Driving in Seattle is like driving in SF. Too many hills, too many cars - but I go up every now and then.

How does Renton work? Anyone up to get together at the the landing in Renton?. There's a place called world of beer there that I've been wanting to check out.

I've heard from coworkers that World of Beers is a good spot. The Berliner off of exit 4 is also really good. Good selection of German beers on draft. Sadly, it will be a while until I can make another Tuesday meet.

On another note, I'm stuffing in the 2056 today. Hopefully I'll be driving her again this weekend. Its already been over a year!

James, I'm up for a cold beer Tuesday evening. Seattle/north would be ideal, but I could brave Renton.

I could do Tuesday if we meet North of Seattle, something like Big E Alehouse or Elliot Bay Brewing in Lake City.

North doesn't work from the South Sound. Takes me well over an hour to get to Seattle. then add time to get thru the City.

Let's see if any of the south end guys chime in I'm up for another one in a few weeks in the north end. The last time we tried the north it was only Billy and myself who showed. The summer is starting to slip away!
