usually i just read the mag in the store and save the money. when dave kawell does a exstensive dyno test, i break down and buy one. pretty cool, 1914 cc, race fuel, 332.8 corrected hp @ 6500rpm and 310.9 ftl.-lbs @5000 rpm. broke the engine ( 1 split cly and other rotating mass problems), but pretty huge numbers.

wow those mags are still around! I used to have a subscription to VW Trends back in the day. Had the stickers on the GHIA and everything.

Hot VW's is great. Lot of fun looking at people's cars. VW folks are a wacky bunch. The type 1 just keeps going.
