Hi,

Does anyone know of this guy or his car:

http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=48510

I talked to him and he seems really nice. Has anyone looked at
his car? I am waiting for some more pictures, but I'm wondering
if anyone might be able to do a PPI for me if the pictures look
good.

I have a phone number and name if he is legitimate.

Okay, no immediate response.

I got the pictures, and they look pretty good, but on a few I don't recognize the location!

Is anyone available to do a PPI? I'd like to see if this car is worth it. The car is in Tejunga (Glendale area) CA.

I would really appreciate it if someone could. I can send phonne number and
name. I would be iternally in your debt! pray.gif

Thanks,

Jeff

Tejunga is pretty close to me. He says there is a 2" hole under the battery. If he means a 2" hole in the long, that's pretty serious rust. If you're really interested in this car I can look at it for you. But I have to state some disclaimers first:
1. I know nothing about 4 cyls.
2. I'm leaving Wed. for vacation, so the next few days are real hectic trying to get my business in shape to leave.
3. I'm not a Guru of any type, so I could only report on the obvious things.
4. I know nothing about 4 cyls.
But, if no one else is going to chime in, I'll do my best. Let me know.

Hi,

If you could look at the car, I would really appreciate it! It's the best one I
have found so far. I don't think it is a problem if you don't know anything about
4 cylinders, just don't expect any power! A 1.8 is the lowest of all, but power isn't
my concern. Driveability is my concern.

I have seen pictures, but just can't visualize the spot he is talking about. He says
it is not in the long, and he should know. He said he would weld it anyway, but
wanted to wait until someone saw it so it wouldn't look like he was hiding anything.

The guy's name is Leamon. He has experience racing 914's some years ago. so
he was interesting to talk to. He also has or had quite a stable of cars
(Porsche's). His number is 818-266-7774. If you couls set up a time to visit
at your convenience, that would be best.

This car is supposed to be all original, never painted. That is one thing I was
looking for. Appearance is less critical to me than mechanical issues. I am
looking for a daily driver that I can fix up over time. My initial concern is
whether it can make the drive 1500 miles home, which is my intention.

I don't need additional pictures, which will save you time. Your timeframe is fine
with me. I just want to get this done and find out if I need to keep searching or
get plane tickets.

I will be volunteering on the aircraft carrier Lexington, but either send me
a PM, or call me at 361-230-9729 if you have any luck.

Thank you so much!!

Jeff
