Its alway interesting tearing down motors others have built. blink.gif
Ripping into the 2.0 I found that the flapper over the Oil cooler had been
*locked down* WTF.gif
Why would someone do this?
the curious thing is the car ran great and never overheated, according to my
console gauge. Evan after the punishment taken driving it to WCC around Streets of Willow and back to Sea. smile.gif

Makes sense to me. I take it the thermostat had been disconnected?

The position of the flapper is the "hot" position. The motor may take a tad longer to get up to temp, but that's the failsafe position for the flapper.

flapper *down* on the pass. side means always full cooling air to the oilcooler!
and that's usually a good thing ...

Not. But Oh well. appears no harm rusulted Id just never seen it, where the flapper was installed under the tin for th Oil cooler + have the Thermo cable functional. blink.gif
