I searched for it, and found people asking, but no answers.
How do you do a leakdown test? I am trying to set a baseline on my
nonfunctional engine to see what's up.

bring piston to TDC, apply 100 psi of pressure, measure (somehow) pressure. difference in applied and measured is % leakage.
you will have to keep the engine from turning during the test.

Thanks, and just when I thought I had all the basic test equipment! That's NOT
on my list for tomorrow!

Here are the plans that I used to make one:
http://www.xs11.com/tips/misc/misc3.shtmlIt wasn't too hard to make. I used some of the components from my compression tester.

Just start with a basic compression test. It may tell you enough such that you won't need to buy leakdown test equipment.
