I'll post a picture if needed, but someone probably knows the answer to this.

In an early model, there are the three pegs sticking out of the side for the e-brake:

1. Big one in back is the pivot point for the handle
2. Middle one holds the toothy lock thing
3. Front one, sitting a bit forward of the cross member and just where the handle
starts, does what? Is there supposed to be something there? I think there was
when I took my interior apart, but I have since forgotten what went there.

It's almost like something would go there to prevent you from pushing down too far or to let the handle rest on it, but is this just another rubber grommet or what?

it's the stop for your handbrake. i has a black plastic (rubber?) cover over it. that's where the brake handle comes to rest when disengaged ...
