Full Version: making 914 Konis fit into 911 Boge struts

I started putting my suspension bits together this weekend. I've been bead blasting, painting and assembling. I have an '85 Carrera front end with boge struts and I had a set of 914 Koin reds (adjustable) that I wanted to use. Unfortunately, they don't just bolt in. I machined up some step spacers that allow the Koni to be used with the Boge struts.

The Konis have a step at the top of the cartridge and will swim in the Boge cap.

Here's a pic of the spacer I machined up. It sits on top of the insert and the outer diameter is a perfect fit to the strut cap.

Here's the rest of the suspension bits post blasting/painting and ready to bolt on. I just need to clean and repaint the trailing arms and I'm good to go!
