Okay finally got to the first AX of the year (last month's Mass
event was cancelled due to 15" of rain or so mad.gif ).

Got video, 26Mb MPEG-1 AX Pic-in-Pic + Data 06/04/2006
This was a Renegade Miata club event.

Not much dry weather, but just enough to get 2 runs at temp.
Video shows thru windshield on the left, and left side wheels
of the 914-6 on the right (turn-signal mount aktion035.gif ). Also have
accelerometer data in the corner (my new design biggrin.gif ).

Background for this was last year's look at my 6" wheels
where the 205's were moving side-to-side by about 2" during
hard cornering (and I needed to not increase tire pressure).
So I wanted to test the same with the 7" boxster rims.

Tires are similar (Ecsta V700 vs. last year's victoracers).
Pressure was 28~29 all around.

Lots less tire movement, which can't hurt. Tires are lighter
but wheels are heavier, so I'm giving up about 10 pounds for
my trouble, but price of wheels was a wash with selling the
cookies.

I don't think my driving was all that great yet, but I like the
Miata guys' courses since they are much more of a challenge
compared to the PCA courses here.

Oh yeah, Lotus Elise with Hoosiers got into 1:12's, I was at
1:17.9 (this run was 1:16 but had a cone)

where was that held...

Devens in Ayer, MA. That's where most of the clubs I know use,
nothing else is available. Come out to the first NERPCA one in
less than 2 weeks.

Lots of coasting. and 2nd gear the whole course?
Car sounds great with it's neck being wrung.
I am gong to get that camera mount installed in my car so I can pick at my own driving.

Course was all second gear. -6 second gear is a lot higher than -4 though.

Definitely needed to find out where to hit the gas more, this was not my
best work.

Rear tires are not rolling over to the arrows, but the fronts are (strange).
I should be able to lower pressure in the rear with these.
