First one....I like the smileys when I am responding to a post, so I dont want to turn them off.

In the PM area though they make the whole effort jumpy...can they be turned off just in the PM area?

Second, when someone quotes a previous user that has included a pic or two, can the picture just be a link versus including it inline???

I have broadband, and it makes the post scroll really slow...
funny the original pic is fine...it scrolls nicely...the copy of the picture scrolls really slowly...
It may be a link, but the behaviour is clearly slower when scrolling a quoted pic....

i don't have any direct control over the quoting code, i suppose i can hack up some filter that turns inline pictures into links ... remind me again this winter ...

as for the smilies, simply hit ESC once the page is loaded and they will stop ani-mating ... that should speed up things ...
