I think I remember seeing a tech article in PCA Panorama about using ultra fine sandpaper to bring back the original anodized finish on 4 lug Fuchs? Anybody have this article or was I ?

I think the annodize is some kind of dipping process. Not exactly sure hows it done.

In my opinion, any sandpaper or steel wool will remove the anodizing. If you want to properly refinish the rim, send it out to be reanodized. Note: only the forged rims (Fuchs) are anodized.

That's an excellent reference & I agree with you one sanding or using any abrisive material on anodized parts. The anodizing is so thin it wouldn't take much to remove it completely.

By the way, I remember in the early 70's it wasn't uncommon to see 911 cookie cutters with a very pale green/blue anodizing on them. My 73T still has 2 cookie cutters will a very faint greenish tint still on them. The rest is long gone to age & cleaning. Anyone else remember such a thing?
