I'd be concerned with replacing the bolts, it's the bolts that break not the nuts.
New nuts will insure a good torque, on used bolts, thats so they can break easier
Stock new bolts (And they come with new nuts) are better than used.
ARP are whole lot better, but what ever bolts are used the big ends will need to be re-sized.
The only rods, that all you could do is replace the nuts, were the porsche rods in the 356, where the stud is made into the cap, so all you can do is replace the nuts.
If, your rods have bolts and nuts, replace them both your walet will thank you later.
