Full Version: horn contact button/pin

73 1.7 stock bow tie steering wheel doesn't seem to have the contact pin/button. just had an electrical u connector (sorry about the technical verbage) connected to a nub that now is gone. soldering the wire don't work. any thoughts?

Pick up a new horn-pad with the contact still attached. Can't be that expensive from somebody's sawzall party.

You could probably just cut a new tab in the piece of metal that is there too . . . or you could do it like my 64 baja bug and just put a button on the dash or you could just do what I did with my first 914 and bang the heck out of the horn button and try to make it clank real loud against the steering wheel. If it were mine though, I'd either solder on a tab or cut a new one on the metal that is there.
