I have this picture, from this angle it looks OK but I don't know what it looks like from any other angle. Anyone else ever seen one, know where to buy one? Any pictures from behind? (the tail that is)

It's called a 'turbotail'. Pretty much the whole thing is molded rubber. It has the slapped-on-and-looks-out-of-place look. The ricer crowd seems to like that look. When I bought my car, the seller threw in one of those - luckily he hadn't mounted it yet. I sold it on ebay long ago.

I have a real fiberglass whale tail ( looks like the carerras, or a big clam ) in my backyard. If I manage to get a camera working I'll post it.

You need real big flairs a wide tires before you go thinking about putting a whale tail on a 914...and even then...its fugly!

I *DID* have one.

it kinda sucked. The tail was in great condition, but the mounting screws werent watertight and it rusted the spots on the rear trunk where the tail mounted.

Its on rick's pink car now, when it used to be my parts car.

Found this whale tailed chev. powdered 914 in my archives. Check out those fat tires & flares. I love street rod 914's.
