What year did Porsche move the location of the jack from over the rear wheel / rear fender to along the firewall?

Also, did the jack design change at that time?

between '72 and '73 i believe ...

and yes, the design is very much different ...

yup, my early 72 had it above the rear tire, one I have now has it above the rear of the engine...

Thanks! My only ownership experience was with 2 1970's. Obviously they were both in the same place. Now that I am looking for another 914, I've noticed the change in location but didn't know when it occured.
