doing this tomorrow, too.

It looks like it may be kinda wierd to do while its in the car.
Any tips?
Brad Roberts
Loosen the 4 13mm bolts that hold the mounts. Drop the rear of the tranny down about 2 inches. This will give you enough room to loosen the 19mm nut/bolt that passes thru the stock rubber mount and to move the entire assembly off the ear of the tranny. Remove the bolt completely from the rubber mount and drop it thru the new mount and slide it on. Set everything up a little loose and jack the tranny back up into place. Stop the jack with the new mounts about 1/4 inch away and line up the 4 13mm bolts/nuts. Start them. Then jack the tranny up and tighten the 4 down. After they are tight.. tighten the two 19mm bolts.

Do I use this carrier that was on the old mounts? It seems like it might work either way?
These are the Al Swanson solid mounts if anyone cares.
Thanks.

Does anyone make front mounts that is any better than stock?
Never seen one offered.
Is it worth fabing a set of front mounts?

You dont need that.

All you need is the large bottom washer.

Tranny mounts are in. Bushings are next. I'm hesitant about them for some reason.

I'm sitting in my garage looking for tips on bushing replacement. I love 80211 !!!
Brad Roberts
Um.. push them in.

The large ones are easy to install.

I'm just trying to figure out how much shit to take off.

It looks like 3 bushings, 1 in the tail, 1 at the firewall and 1 just behind the shifter and shift rod head.
Brad Roberts
I replaced the one at the shifter.. leave it alone.

The other two are exposed.

Paul,

in regards to the question about front mounts...
do you mean motor mounts when you ask that?

Is your car a tail shifter motor mount or a side shifter motor mount.

I know someone who has made up SS motor mounts.. They help a little.
