Okay, I got my car running again, sort of....

But, I have a problem I can not figure out.

One cylinder is cold.

#2 cylinder is dead. I pulled the plug, and is is wet with gas.

I switched the wire.
I switched the plug.
The plug fires out of the cylinder.
The injectors were tested.
There is compression.

In the same vein, I am not getting good vacuum, so the airflow sensor is
not opening enough to keep the car running. Would a nonfiring cylinder
cause that? Will I pull more vacuum with them all running? I can not find
any more vacuum leaks. I've been through them all a few times.

Anybody have any ideas? I'm getting excited again!!

Thanks,

Jeff

You say there is compression: how much?

You have a leaking injector

What is the fuel pressure?

Compression is around 100 cold. I can't get the car running long enough to do it
hot. #3 and #4 are slightly lower and thay run.

This problem started before I had the injectors cleaned and tested. The injector
has since been swapped.

Fuel pressure is about 30 psi.

The problem I fixed was that the fuel pump had been running all the time. The
contact in the airflow sensor was shut all the time. It was also cutting out, and I
think that was related to the bent pump contact. This was a running engine
before I drove it from California to Texas two months ago. Otherwise, the airfllow
sensor is unmolested.
