A few of you knew this was coming.

I hope it's okay to mention this info below in the garage - I will put an ad in our classifieds and hope like hell that a 914 club member gets this car.

Many of you know this car and the amount of effort I have put into it over the last three years I've owned it (I won't even mention the amount of money). The ONLY SIGNIFICANT thing this car needs is paint.

It would also be a very good candidate for a 6, SBC, or suby conversion since it has ALL the important upgrades (and engine is worth 2k).

As much as I hate to sell this car, I must. I am asking 7k and will entertain all offers.

It is a very quick and competitive car to drive. Here is why:

FRONT SUSPENSION
1970 911S front suspension
19mm torsion bars
Turbo Tie Rods
New steering box
Koni Sports adjustable shocks
Bump steer kit
Weltmeister 22mm adjustable swaybar

REAR SUSPENSION
Factory swaybar with Weltmeister bushings (currently off car)
Weltmeister rear body stiffening kit
Poly bushings fitted in trailing arms (05)
250 lb coil overs
Koni Sports adjustable shocks

ALIGNMENT/WEIGHT
Fully documented car alignment including camber, caster & toe.
Full car alignment & corner balanced last month. A perfect 50% cross reading attained for corner balance. Car weighs 1948 lbs with 3 gal fuel.

BRAKES
911S alloy calipers & rotors (new set is $5k)
Stainless steel brake lines
19mm master cylinder
Stock rear brakes with working parking brake
ATE blue fluid
All new brake pads fitted last year

WHEELS/TIRES
5-Lug conversion
Porsche Fuchs 16X7 all around (very clean but needs polish/paint)
Brand new Hankook RS-2's 505/50's
(just purchased wheels & tires for $1k)

ENGINE
2.0 purchased from professional Saab mechanic that tracks a 914 at Hallet Motorway. It came out of his track car (he's putting in a Saab turbo). It has two seasons on the bottom end. One season on the Euro P/C's with freshly built heads. We calculated 15 hrs of running per season. For all practical purposes, this is a new engine. You do the math. The head tech said there has been no welding on the heads and are near perfect.

It was fitted with an 8 quart oil cooler (he's a swepco distributor) and he said it has never run hot. I believe him because I'm running a stock oil cooler and on a 95 degree day it will not over heat in traffic, at the AX or on the highway. Typical temps for me in hot weather this summer has been 190's oil, 275 head temps and 1200 EGT. And this is with the cooling flaps halfway closed! This engine runs cool!

I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country.

ENGINE FEATURES/UPGRADES
Euro P/C's (8.5/1 comp)
Web cam (for carbs)
Polished rods
Balanced
Galley plugs done
Time certs installed for exhaust studs
Heavy duty oil pump (oil pressure runs 60-80 lbs)
hi-rev 911 starter motor
New motor mounts
Valvoline Racing Oil change EVERY 1500 miles.
Valves adjusted EVERY 3000 miles.

The valve train is stock and revs freely to 6k plus. I keep the adjustable rev limiter at 58000rpms. I estimate it to have around 105hp at the rear wheels. My friends 2.2 litre six just barely pulls it in a straight.

It has 44 IDF Webers purchased new two years ago.
They are fitted with the good hex bar linkage with 32mm chokes, f11 emulsion tubes, 175 air correction, 55 idles and 135 mains. K&N style air filters with Morphrenspectra fiberglass rain bonnets.

Electrical is Mallory Uni-lite distributor, Mallory Hy-fire digital box with built-in adjustable rev limiter (mounted in the trunk), and has a Mallory Fire Coil.

The engine tin is freshly powdercoated in black with new sealing rubber all around.

The exhaust is Kerry Hunter headers with Supertrapp muffler. Together they sound great and are very lightweight. I also have original stock backdated HE's along with a Bursch muffler.

BATTERY & FUEL TANK
The battery has been fitted in the front trunk.
Electrical cut off switch in engine bay
The fuel tank was boiled and POR treated including their sealer and outside sprayed with their engine satin black. Looks brand new.

TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH
Total rebuild two years ago. All new syncros including new slider gears for first & 2nd. It has a flipped 5th from another tranny for 3rd gear, which provides a very close ratio from 2nd to 3rd. No gear grinding. Shifts smoothly into 1st at 14mph.
New flywheel, 911 clutch, pressure plate & throwout bearing last year
I have re-built both inner CV's and one outer CV.
Rennshift shifter installed (30% reduction throw model).
911 sport motor mounts installed for tranny support.
All new bushings for shift linkage.

GAGES
New oil temp gage and sender
New CHT gage and sender
New EGT gages and senders
Speedo & tach rotated for optimum visibility
EGT & CHT are mounted in ashtray location

BODY & INTERIOR
Early 911 steel fender wells (allows 225 tires w/8" wheels)
Fiberglass bumpers installed with new fog light grilles
GT Lid & stock lid (both are slotted for quick removal)
Upgraded Pilot fog lights and re-wired to turn on separately from other lights
Italian style front parking lights
Rear spoiler
Porsche crest on front hood
Pedal assembly rebuilt
14" steering wheel
Leather seat bolsters with cloth inserts
Leather center arm rest
New door panels

COMPETITION
The car is competitive.
TTOD at Jaguar Club Annual AX
TTOD at 2005 914 MUSR
1st or 2nd at 914club Cup Series smile.gif
SCCA CSP class wins in 2006: 5 out of 6 so far

NEGATIVES
Body needs PAINT!
Body is straight and free of any dents, etc., but needs some long block sanding around wheel wells to be perfect
Body is free of any structural rust, but has a bit of cosmetic rust in trunks
Interior door latches need repair
Needs new carpet kit
Needs new steering wheel
Horn works sporadically
Alternator is not charging correctly. Car comes with a used known working unit.
There are no flapper boxes for heat
Thermostat not fully working

We can leave it here for the time being. I *think* I can copy it into the classifieds.

Thanks for both comments. smile.gif

I will go ahead and make a post in the classifieds.

I just wanted some of the members to know about it.

Plus, it helps me with my "closure". This is difficult. sad.gif

So if this post is not here tomorrow, I'll know what happened to it. biggrin.gif

I'm sorry to see it go sad.gif

I just hope it goes to a good home.

I feel like I helped build the car (and I never touched it..LOL)

That car has a bit of you for sure, as well as many others here.

I hope a 914clubber gets it.

This is very therapeutic for me. biggrin.gif

I'll post a few here shortly. The car is VERY well sorted but is no beauty queen. And remember, I'm a professional photographer, so I can make anything look really good. biggrin.gif
