In reading an article on PP I saw that I require a different heater lever for my car when I put the consol in. Can my lever ('72) be adapted or do I need the whole lever and switch?
Aaron Cox
apperently you can bend them to the shape of the console lever. i will be doing this soon also. i got the console lever for 30 bucks off ebay. i went to put it in, and was surprised to see that you have to pull the whole cable from one heater valve in the back, and pull it thru the loop in the lever mad.gif ...so ill save that for a rainy day!

What acox914 is trying to type is that Yes you do need a different defrost lever for the console compared to thre non console model.
The one for the console type is longer and bent to fit into the slot made for the lever.
The non console model is straight and can be made to work, but kind of funky.

mine came with the console.
$100 bucks for everything, console, lever, gauges and wire harness.
got it from easy in oakland. i'm sure they have a stash of those levers.

yes, putting them in is a PITA cause you have to unhook the heater wire on one box in the back under the car, pull it out, fiddle it through the switch and then back through the tube.
bring lots of WD40 ...
