Hi guys.

I just bought an Optima 34R based on all the recommendations I read on this forum.

The battery is too long to fit in the tray of my '76.

Has anyone had similar problems?

Any ideas?

you have to shave off the edges on the bottom of the battery abit so they are flat.

Would you recommend just using a file?

I assume that you mean the two extensions on each end of the battery base?

yes and yes.. had to do that to mine too. place it in the tray and verify to see how much needs to come off each side
