The fuel gauge on my 72 914 has begun to read mid point no matter how much
or how little fuel was actually in the tank. I read the Pelican tech article about
a gunked up fuel tank level sender causing this and I believe that is precisely
what is happening. The article mentions the sender being under the carpet in
the trunk. I have searched my front trunk and cannot find it. Can someone
tell me precisely where the top of the sensor is in relation to the fuel filler cap (Or other notible landmark)??? Thanks!

it is under your over flow tank on the top of your gas tank, there should be a 4 pin connector connected to it. look for brown, black, and green wires leading to it.
