I was late to work this morning, because i couldn't leave until it was over. and the replay this afternoon, was just as exciting as this morning.

After Stage 16, Floyd was saying it was all over. That night, Eddie Mercyx called up the Phonak team boss and said it wasn't all over, yet. One assumes Floyd took that to heart. After all Pereiro himself dragged himself up 30min after losing it in the Pyrennes.

He never had too! The one year he bonked he only lost a little over 2 min.

In one tour( 01 I think) he over came a half hour deficate.

Not to take anything away from Floyd, what he did today will go down in history, but the best are not at the tour.

Lance has beat the best, past and present.

It is not a matter of who is the best today. What he did is amazing for any man in any Tour. Even with a broken bike pitstop.

If you have never ridden with a GOOD group of riders all pushing a quick pace. and then just look at everyone and say "ok enough of the warm up let's ride" take off like a shot and bury every last one of them going up the biggest hill in the world. Well it's quite demoralizing for the group, but you are now on cloud nine feeling like you could go whip Superman in a bar fight.

Things these bike riders do is just simply amazing.

I was late getting home tonight...sounds like something amazing happened on stage 17 today. I'm betting Landis felt a bit better today...I'll watch the recording later on tonight to see if I'm right!!!

Had a hard time trying to explain exactly what he did today. It's completely unheard of. I think I kinda summed it up by comparing it to Jordan winning the NBA championship in the 4th quarter by making 10 shots by himself to win the game.

10 hell, more like him winning the game all by himself.

Well...I finally got home and have watched the tape...Holy Shit! What an amazing day in the history of sports! That is simply the most awesome performance I have ever seen! Landis has much to be proud of! On to the time trial where he has eaten up his competition by a factor of minutes!!!!!!!!
