ok so i have new cyinders and pistons and rings etc...they are 2.0L and i now have a 73 1.7L waith a fuel injected system. should i put them on? or no? wat will it do/wat will i need to do/replace to get it going good?

2L pistons need a 2L crank and rods.

I also forgot. 1.7L heads won't fit 2L cylinders without machining.
So.Cal.914
Do what I did, get a 2.0 crank (counter balance) and rods and put it in your 1.7.

Runs real nice. Heads will need to be cut(no big deal).

ok so they r....MAHLE ORIGINALS...PART NUMBER: K70980...MOTOR IS: 1970cc (which is 2.0L...i no that dont laugh..) 4 brand new cylinders with pistons and rings and everything...ready to go

IIRC the 2.0L was 1971cc

you sure they're for 914?

they are 94mm flat top pistons with cylinders and rings and clips, yada yada yada. the box says its for a 2.0L VW engine.....
