I've dismantled my trans and am curious as to whether or not this is how gear teeth are supposed to look?

The gear teeth look ok. Your synchro band and teeth need replacing, though.
With gear teeth what you wnat to look for is gauling (grooves or other missing metal ont he teeth face).

The gear is fine, the synchronizer dog teeth are trashed. More than likely, so's the operating sleeve. BIG DOLLARS, and used ones that are even acceptable are rare.
