Hi,

Well, my car has run for a whole week now!! That's my personal record!

My baby got new shoes today, but that did not fix one problem I have. I get a
random vibration while driving. It feels like a wheel out of balance, but it did it
with both the old tires and the new, so I do not think it is them.

By random, I mean that it comes and goes, and does not seem to be speed
related. Some times it is there, and sometimes the car is fine. In all
circumstances, the car tracks perfectly straight. It just vibrates strongly
through the steering wheel.

The only thing I have noticed is a tiny bit of vertical play in the steering wheel.

Any othe ideas? It seems to be front end related. Nothing appeasr to be loose.

The other issue I'd like an opinion on is the shifter. Except for no first gear
synchro, the car seems to shift well. But, 2nd/3rd seem to be too close to
1st/rev. Shifting from 1st to 2nd, I get a sound that feels like hitting the edge of
reverse. Also, any pressure left on the shifter seems to cause problems.
4th and 5th are way over to the right. Should I be able to adjust the shifter to
center 2nd and 3rd a little bit more? It sure would make things easier!!

Boy, it is nice to ask questions other than about the darn engine!!

Any ideas are welcome!

Thanks,

Jeff

Check wheel bearings. Yes you can adjust your shifter but they don't have the

best shifter setup as it is, 1st to 2nd I think most of us have nicked reverse.

And 4th and 5th is far over to the right.
