driving.gif I am looking to find the lightest 15" rims for a VW Golf mueba.gif yes I know.... its not a 914. But the 914 5 lug rims weigh 7-8lbs. I am curious for saftey reason if the 3100lbs Golf would be more than the 914 rims could handle.

Big weight difference in the two cars.

So does anybody know the load ratings on the rim? or if they have ever seen them used on a heavier car?

7-8lbs? You need to search for the ultra light racing rims, Im sure they have them in your VW offset. The Porsche 5x130 will require an adapter for your car, and will increase the rotating mass and weight anyways, and is deemed not as safe as no adapter.

And im sure that the porsche 5 lug rims will be strong enough for a 3100lb car, The later 911's were around that. Your thinking of the Mahle Gasburners.. (I think) As they are the lightest rim that porsche ever made for a street car.
