Who knows what is going to happen?

Is Porsche going to introduce a Cayman with some real power?

Are the rumors true or BS?

Who knows?

Randal, don't the Caymans already have more than enough HP?

A 280 HP Boxster S seemed pretty good to me this past weekend.

I drove one of my students '06 on the Big course on Sunday and turned a 49.1 in one try....

295 HP in a stiffer chassis seems pretty good to me in the right hands. blink.gif

I doubt it. Porsche would never allow another model to threaten the 911. Even if it is a better car, they couldn't let it be "better" than a 911. That is one reason you dont see any cayman club sport editions.

295 hp and 250 ft lbs of torque in a 2900 lb car isnt real power?
DanT
That kind of power is great in the Cayman...it would be wonderful in a 914.

Even the 280 in the Boxster S is really nice.... smile.gif

I was paging through some car magazine and saw mention of a Cayman RS.

They handle like a dream Bill. Absolutely unbelievable.

I won't even post the story, because nobody is going to believe me, but I'll call you tomorrow and tell you the details.

No question about it Dan, but I heard that they were going to be offering a new motor next year.

BTW you did good, as I would expect, but I took my student down from a 56+ to 50.7 which wasn't bad. Tough part is getting any boxer or Cayman student to understand smooth (which can be fast by the way) steering input. Know what I mean?

BTW your earlier comments at Alameda are absolutely true. Why no one is finishing in the top 5 with a Boxer S or Cayman doesn't make sense.

I can't imagine how good they would be on slicks. OMG. drooley.gif

Cayman would be fun so would an Elise or Exige. Hell I would like to get a GT3

But I simply cannot get my head around $5000-6000K for insurance for I car I will drive at most once a week. confused24.gif

AutoWeek reported that Porsche will offer an entry level Cayman next year with a smaller engine. Is that what you're article is referring too? I think eventually they will sell a limited edition sport version but not a full production run.

Yes they are spectacularly nice to drive!

Friend of mine, when talking to a senior Porsche person about getting one with more power was told to 'wait'...

But who knows until its seen.
