Maybe this is a little early but I thought I'd throw it out there for everyone to start thinking about. If Vegas is the site, it should happen before June(Hot). Would be nice to have a track to use too(Las Vegas Raceway)! I will volunteer HOWARD to be one of the main organizers... biggrin.gif I think making it a charity event is a really great idea! I kind'a liked Willow Springs myself....but whatever. Probably to costly to rent Laguna Seca for the day? (but that woud be very cool!) thumb3d.gif

Sorry to be the first to say this but I am not alone. I will not go to Vegas with my 914. Too hot. Too far from the coast to be considered WCC. hitfan[1].gif So now that I have said that, go ahead and toss the feces at the ocillating device.

I was worried that there might not be a WCC 07 because there hasn't been much talk about it. Maybe everyone is worried that if they bring it up they'll have to organize it.

You brought it up... ph34r.gif biggrin.gif

There was talk about Nor Cal. Sounds good to me.
brant
track fee's....

ha...

has anyone here tried to rent a track for a day lately.
5G easy, plus insurance.

Personally, I think the "rotation" is back to NorCal and I cast my vote for the Napa wine country. Infineon is nearby and PLENTY of wineries to use for "Agricultural Inspection Tours". Only issue may be finding affordable lodging; but more research may lead to a viable location.

Agreed...

It's not Vegas. wink.gif It is in the planning stages.

Getting Sears would be golden...Running a 914 group or two with Trackmasters might be a possibility.

An a/x with Redwood-PCA or GGR at Alameda would also be good.

A twisty tour up and around Berryessa with a lunch in the Napa Valley would be a real draw.

Plus, Aetna Springs golf course in Pope Valley would be a perfect photo op, BBQ, golf, day trip. It's the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi.

Damn! I was hoping for Vegas. sad.gif

Can you guys at least announce the city as soon as it has been decided? It would REALLY make it better for trying to get my wife to come along if I can get as much notice as possible. I don't need all the details, just the host city.

If I can work this into a family vacation for next year I could even haul the 914 with us clap56.gif driving.gif
Bleyseng
I'm up for NoCal, wine tour, a big AX event etc....

I will even drive down this time as long as the Turtle Mt Beer truck makes it.

I've done 2 of them as family vacations and everyone has had a good time. The kids see grown up acting a little silly (Dino) and the wife gets more than her fill of car talk but, they have been great. If it is in the bay area consider coming early or staying late and doing tourist stuff. The family loved San Francisco.

Don't make the car the over riding concern. Even if you don't bring yours you'll get a chance to drive some.

Oh ya popcorn[1].gif

Let me know what I can do to help organise.

I wondered if up near Russian River would be good - my wife and I stayed up in Bodega Bay a couple of weekends ago... there's a couple of big hotels.

Maybe another alternative would be in Santa Rosa, or Healdsburg. Only problem is finding accomodation...

Anyways - let me know if I can do any organisin'.

NorCal and Sears point / wine country gets my worthless vote - However my wife loves the Monterey area and Laguna Seca. spank.gif

I cast my vote for Vegas, It has already been in NorCal, Central coast and PNW, if you all cant stand the heat of Vegas, the other option I see would be San Diego or South County OC. I still think Vegas would be awesome if we planned it around April or May before the heat gets too excessive. The night life there is great too for the late night players. Besides, we already have a very active participating member there who could spearhead the whole thing. Right John?
Root_Werks
Vegas in the spring time would be cool. driving.gif

That would be Central coast, we already had one there last year. It is very close to Camrillo. If you all insist on Coastal California, I still would vote for a more southern segment of the coast. Brad is down in San Diego but there is miles of coast in the true Southern California.
bernbomb914
san diego has the carlsbad track that might be interesting to look into

If it is in SoCal, my family will be there in a heartbeat! boldblue.gif

The WCC usually takes place near some kind of race facility. Infineon (Sears) would be nice, but is it affordable these days? Difficult to book a date, last I heard. A real fun track. The Wine Country would be kinda cool. Vegas has three tracks to choose from; The Speedway, the old Stradust roadcourse, and Pahrump SW of Vegas. Lot's to do in that town, though after having raced there many years I'm kinda bored of the whole casino scene. OC doesn't have any nearby facilities; Fontana is a bit of a drive, expensive, and difficult to book. San Diego.....What's around there? Do they still run Holtville? Nice weather, and has that sort of vacation feel to it. I'm still hoping to have my conversion done this year, so the WCC07 looks doable.

Maybe we should book a Karting day at Infinieon?

Once again I agree with Michael, I see a trend happening blink.gif

If it was in the general area of San Diego there would be no problem selling this to the wife. Where ever it ends up being I will do my best to make a family vacation out of it.

So why all the secrecy? Oh, wait.. it's probably because of the neverending arguments over location. biggrin.gif

The way it seems to have been in the past, the location is not decided by popular vote... Somebody steps up and says "I'll organize the event" and then picks a location near them. It sounds like that has already happened. smile.gif
richardL
There was a reasonable amount of interest from the European community if the event were in the Bay Area. They could make a vacation of it, plus we could organise a 'shopping spree' at the likes of HPH, EASY and Parts Heaven for them.

As someone said above, city and date are important bits of info for everyone.

Howard
Rob, first of all, let me thank you for nominating me. finger.gif
I actually had something a little different in mind for 2007, a bit more rustic and back to nature. I know of a delightful mountain lodge with pool, 20 acres of unspoiled wilderness, yet close to the city and beaches. Surrounded by some of the best driving roads in the world. Easy access to Willow Springs.

More than enough room for everyone to camp there or inexpensive motels, 5 star resorts, and great golf within 5 miles. Did I mention the goats? Maybe Miles would even come. Thank you for your support.

PS. Innkeeper has a hot wife happy11.gif

Some of us have to put in our time off for the year at the end of this year. Aproximate time frame would be great too! Ppppllllleeeeaaaaassssseeeeee?
Brando
Vegas or NorCal... Doan matter to me, as long as there's lots of tequilla, alcohol, a track to run on, lots of teener owners, and driving. biggrin.gif
mstein95
I'm up for either location (of course wife would prefer Nor Cal) - can the date be pushed into the middle of the month? Its difficult for us financial folks to get a week off around "closing the books" at the end/beg of the month.

ppickerell
Mark,
I am also volunteering to help plan/host if norcal is the location.
racerx9146
If its in the planning stages already I think some sort of poll or vote would be ideal to get a feel for where folks want to go. Maybe a limited choice. One of the goals I assume is to have a successful well attended event so you need to get a feel for the majority. And i agree it is a West Coast event.

Damn good idea. It'd be neat to tour the various shops!
bernbomb914
look up Reno/Fernley raceway and see if it would be interesting. just out of Reno
SLITS

Bernie....you've been smokin some real good stuff to call Carlsbad "interesting to look into". We HAD to race there; we didn't want to.

& Holtville....15 miles from nothing; 30 miles from HELL....if you don't have it with you, it doesn't exist....
Joe Bob
Bakersfield.....it's a DRY heat.
John
If it was in Vegas, I might be able to go. (I could talk my wife into that)
