Okay you guys told me how to get the 12 point bolt out on the side of the motor, GREAT! Now that it's out, how do you get the valve to slide out? It would be nice if I didn't have to turn the car on it's side and shake it!
Allan
Magnet maybe?
eeyore
Snap-ring / circlip pliers?

Or start the motor.

The magnet will not pull it out..

Thought about starting it, how much oil will come flying out?
Matt Romanowski
You can use long nose needle nose pliers and put them in and then hold them open to pull it out. I've also used 2 screw drivers wedged against each other to get it out.

why mess with it if the motor is still together?

whittle down a small piece of wood to just a tad larger than the ID of the piston... Hammer it into the piston and yank it out..

do this IF a magnet doesn't work..
