The'll be like 10 cents per rivet.. very inexpensive. Depending upon the year, will determine what color combination you'll need. 36 to do the car, but you'll need a couple xtra in case. If we can get 6 or so people interested I'll reorder more. Need to be purchased in bulk being the shipping is like $10.

According to the John Long book.. 70-73 1/2 model years with alluminum threshold plates take all white rivets (outer rockers and threshold).. 73 1/2 model years +, with black plastic threshold plates take black rivets on the threshold plates and white rivets on the outer rocker covers. Hope thats helpfull. Should be about a week and 1/2 before they come in. Ill let you all know.

If it's not to late I need some also, an early set will work. Please let me know.

Just don't want to mislead anyone on these things.. You'll have to remove one of the four prongs on the rivet with a razor blade. The tops match perfect to the originals, but the prongs are just slightly thicker. It's still a snug fit with 3 prongs but other than the clear OEM ones (which are also a bear to install), seems like the best alternative. When I get my car back next week, I'll post step by instructions which hopefully will make the install easier for you. Save you all some trial and error. Order went in, will keep u all posted.

I have black available.. but waiting on white to come in. If you only want black I can send them out right away. Keep in mind though.. the outer rocker covers should have the white. Cool. I could use enough to do 2 complete 914's. I never counted 'em, so, whatever it takes to do two cars please.

Is there any reason, other than to not be a doof, for not using regular pop rivits?

I'll take enough plus a few extra to do one car. I need both the black and clear for a late 73.

Bondo, nothing wrong with the pop rivets. The plastic I think would be abit easier to remove if needed. There was a bunch of looking for original style rivets for some time. Finally found a manufacturer that offered a substitute. The OEM clears ones which are the only ones carried by Porsche now, are too expensive. The white and black have been unavailable for some time. The Porsche rivets are like 80 cents each according to one member whom posted a recent invoice. There's a couple original one owner 75 and 76 cars that have pop rivets in the outer rockers. We couldn't find any documentation on it to determine if all 75 76 model year cars came that way from the factory. It's just a question of what works for you.
