Got my car finally started,(didn't know that if the cht wire disconnects your car isn't starting or will die if running), on freeway I turn on the headights, just to check.

Turning them off resulted in the left headlight closing and opening i.e. winking, right side stays down. Seems I have read about this symptom somewhere?

When I signaled for a left turn it stayed down- then worked correctly, both up and down when switched off. Short somewhere?

BTW my high beam flasher is not working, I just got a replacement, I'll put it in and try again.

check your grounds ...

i had a similar problem, every time i used the turn signal indicator, my left light would go up/down ...

turned out, the PO had hacked into the harness and a ground was missing from the circuit.

took a while to find, but i'm betting that's what it is ...
