Are there any differences between the 1.7, 1.8 and 2.0 intake runners?
Bruce Allert
I'm pretty sure that you cannot swap 1.7 for 2.0 & vise versa due to the 2.0 having the 3 bolt attachment and the 1.7 has 4.

Someone out there will correct me if this is not true. As for the 1.8 I'm thinking the runners would be swapable with the 1.7.

Other than layout and numbers of holes in the flanges......no

2.0 and I've been told 1.8s are larger diameter.

Plenums they attach to are different.

Ya, they are larger in diameter... I forgot about that. I found out when reinstalling the intake hoses from the 1.7.. they just wouldn't fit... too tight!

Is the bolt pattern different in all 3 cases?

1.7 / 1.8 are the same

I also vaguely remember something about the mating angle to the head being different, but being old I don't remember if it's true or not.

1.7 & 1.8 (4 bolt)

2.0 (3 bolt)

1.7 small diameter

1.8/2.0 large diameter

with carefull "tweaking", I've used 2.0 runners with a 1.8 plenum

The 2.0 plenum is wider than the 1.7 and 1.8 ones, so the 2.0 runners have a slightly shorter length than the others. Plus the other differences mentioned above.

2 L runners are in their own category.
They are shorter than others, larger diameter than others and also have a sightly different approach angle to the plenum.
